new engine help

im lookin to drop a turn key motor into my 85PU. my buddy used to have my same truck and showed me a few companies that have good products but i dont knwo if they will give me what i want or if they handle what i want. he showed me DOA and lc engineering. they seem like performance racing engines which would be awesome, but i like to run baja style off roading and i dont knwo if those engines will handle that kinda abuse or if they are just racing and will blow up. i will re build my stocker for a while too so i can have a second one just in case. but that will be a custom build and a long one. i was jsut wondering about these engines, and if anyone has any suggestions for anything else if not those.

i dont think it would matter really what type of engine you use, as long as its a torquE engine. BUT you must build it very strong with a awsome tune, i am more on the tuner side but im pretty sure off road isnt to much diff. i have a 85 celica gts convertible and i had it for about 4 years now. i had it N/A with a very nice build with high compression pistons etc. and i had a great tune and it last me pretty long with alot of beatings. but as you know moving parts start to ware and so now im doing a turbo set up.

LC engineering makes a good engine and they have 4wd applications. I used their 22re pro stock for a circle track application and I was very impressed.
