Battery hold-down

I need to race my truck at the dragstrip on Friday since my SVO isn't running, but last time they wouldn't pass me through tech because I didn't have a battery hold-down. What do you all use? Is there supposed to be a factory part that works well, or have you all had luck with the parts-store ones or what?

if ihad $$ i'd have done wabbit's. as it was, i measured the stock battery height against the new one, and for mine the difference was 7/8", so i fashioned that out of MDF, bored holes to allow the stock knobs in the plastic tray to fit, and i'm set. it is very secure. this would probably not pass muster at a race like this. go with wabbit's to do that.

You'll rip the fender off before mine lets loose of the battery.

I'm betting you wouldn't ship me yours at 10% of the price and get it here by Friday afternoon though.

my truck was missing the metal hold down as well. $5 at the local junkyard, 5 mins in the bead blaster, some paint, and it looked brand new.
