I start it up cold it idles fine then after a couple minutes it will idle down to where it barely runs then when I take off its really hestitant and misses and surges on light acceleration but when I floor board it its fine..also when I'm driving ill get to around 3 grand and it will surge and cut out as if I hit rev limiter. It has a new CTS and a fresh tune up..the truck is lacking alot of power as well..I cleaned the throttle body last week too.any ideas?

You could measure the resistance values on the AFM(not MAF) and see if it's within limits.

Ooook. Do you have an FSM or and online manual? That way you can compare your own readings. They're also trouble shooting trees that can help too

 

Nope I tried searching on here and am having a hard time finding out how to test the afm.

I have one that my dad bought for his 93 2wd 4cyl but it should have a chart for my truck in it.

Any update on this?!! Mine's having the same issue, but its a first time start up and it does this as soon as its started. Haven't driven it yet though.

Nope my truck still does it but randomly it idles better after the new AFM but still lacks power and cuts out at high rpm hhhhelp lol
