Thank you guys. .......... almost there !!!!!!! It's been over 6 months now (WOW)!

This is whats happening right now......

Dropping off the truck in the morning for the following:

-Install new rims/tires
-Fill 3rd brake light
-Install roll bar
-Mount KC lights to roll bar
-Detail

Also dropping off the rear bumper I picked up on Saturday for powder coating.

Once I get the truck back I have to:

-Mount the front KC lights and complete the wiring
-Install rear bumper (when its gets back from powder coating)
-Adjust timing
-Complete smog
-Take awesome pictures!

Also GE is advertising with a Delorean and been spotted all over the city. I hope to bump into it.

I was able to paint the mirrors. I tried putting a clear coat on it to make it more durable but it started to wrinkle. Oh and I got over spray all over my brand new truck. I swear. I'm just good at destroying everything!

Nooooooo why on the over spray! Didnt you remove the mirrora and paint them once they were off the truck? Or at least cover the truck as you painted them while on? Lol

I wanted to have the shop do it but since there were "moving" parts they didn't. So I decided to. I didn't want to take everything apart to get the mirrors off so I prepped it as is with paper/plastic bags, lots of tape and old clothes.

Of course it went through. Not only that, but the over spray from the paint and primer went everywhere! Well not technically everywhere but still. Door, fender, hood.

I looked online and used some methods they suggested. I have most of if out. When I take it back to the shop in a few I will have them go over one more time to pick up the leftovers. I already gave them a heads up.

HAHAH, hell no!

The truck is dropped off and there is no turn around time for now. I'll get an update maybe Friday.

The GREAT news is that the guy that I've first pitched my project to is BACK! He knows exactly what to do. He also apologized for leaving. He explained his plan from A-Z but ended up leaving due to whatever reason.

Anyway, he's back! I'm excited and I can't wait to see Jennifer!

Chances are I will not see this truck for another 2 weeks. Lets talk about the small things.

I've found 2 sites that sell the "Toyota" decal tailgate and came across 2 sites:

http://www.vellosvinyl.com/TOYOTA-TA...DECAL-1017.htm
and
http://www.jamesdeancreations.com/1987-88.htm

One is 75-125 bucks and the other is about 15 bucks. Has anyone heard of these guys? I doubt I can't find one for the windshield.

Also I was thinking this for the plate frame. Nothing special. Just plain text. Thoughts?

I recently put on the jamesdeancreations stickers and the tailgate one is not one color like the original, the TOYOTA and SR5 letters are in shiny silver vs dark gray. I vote for the $15 one

Thank you very much Sir!

That lettering is too light for me. I'll gamble with the cheaper one.

Does 4 1/8 x 27.5 sound about right?

I've used James dean and looks awesome. Great customer service and quality product. You don't want that cracking up on your new paint

Understood.

I've already placed my order and I hope the cheaper rout will work best. $125 for the tailgate decals and where I only need a certain section is just not worth it.

Time will tell.

Awesome! You should find that poncho coat thingy Marty was wearing, style your hair like his and drive around asking people if they've seen Needles.

Pretty sure when the truck was on the trailer for the raffle the roll bar was a single tube. I know it was a double tube when he raced Needles, wonder why they didn't keep it the same.

Between part 1 and 2/3 it was obvious that different roll bars were used. Possibly different truck use when they filmed in 85 and then in 89/90 (??) (some differences in the garage scene were pointed out a few pages ago).

I was lucky to come across the double tube as searching for the right one was a long process. I kinda like the double tube more IMO.

As for the hair ....... I ant getting any younger.
