Auto Tranny Service Parts

I have never had an auto tranny before so I'm a little new to the up-keep and service of them.

I have to have my rear main oil seal replaced so that means the tranny is coming out. I want to do a full fluid exchange and a filter change. Obviously I will need the fluid (any recomendations) and a filter. Is it a screw on type filter of do you buy a kit with a pan filter and new gasket? Anything else to relpace and check while it's out?

Also if anyone has PN for the filter and anything else I may need that would be swell. I feel like such a newb!

Toyota auto tranny's just have a screen filter. When you drop the pan, you just pull the screen and wash it off.

Neat, so all that is needed is a new gasket I assume?

and some ATF of course LOL

NOTE: I'm going off my experience with my Impala and what I've read - my 4Runner is a manual tranny, so be sure to check out the FSM and everything!

I would change the front seal on the tranny.

I believe toyota has a couple of different colors for the FIPG based on what it will be used for. The one for the tranny pan is red or pink.
