I just got my Parking brake from allpro .
I have a 1991 Toyota Pickup 4x4, I got it a year ago and i am not sure if the transfer case has ever been changed and there is no way to get in contact with other owner. So i thought i would ask the PRO's.
My Problem is the bolt pattern on the brake and the bolt pattern on the transfer case will not line up. All Pro add says Fits 84-95 gear drive 4cyl transfer case equipped pickups and 4Runners. Can someone tell me if this is the original transfer case for this truck or has it been changed. Has anyone ever had this problem with the all pro parking brake before?

If there is not enough info let me know.

Dumb question, but were the chain driven cases have a different bolt pattern? I don't remember right now the years they were used and stuff....It's been a long Friday at work (and it's only 11:15AM)

 

That's not a G or W series X case, but a R series, not gear driven but chain driven. That should be bolted behind a V6.
You will have to fab you'r own bracket for that application. Here's mine:

Yep, that's correct.
Only the 22R-T uses a gear driven R seies I think.

I have a swap, turbo, intercooler and I'm still alive......
Have to admit that the brakes are somewhat "yugo" like....

I have started my own business so who knows, mayby I start producing something. Got a lot of requests about my bumper also. Anyone of you handy with a welder?, I can email the plans and you guys can wire back some money

 

I see 3 bolts to your T case .... is there more then that ?

 

It's 4 bolts.

 

Did you have to move your E brake cable at all ??????
By the way i made the mounting bracket thanks for the tips .

 

I made a new bracket for the cable due to the 3 link front SAS. It should be okay since mine still is located in about the same spot, just a different bracket.

I would love to get a set of plans and material/parts list to build one of those... My parking brake has never worked, and I would prefer to get a tranfercase parking brake setup over fixing the stock setup.

 

I may have to mod the bracket for the cable, it is pulling on a 90 degrees now. I am not going to relocate the bracket just going to cut some out and bend it in and weld it back up so it is not pulling on a angle. Thank you again for all the ideas and the pic's it helped me allot.

My brake light is on .... did you have to do something to your brake light switch?

 

No, no mods. The cable probably got messed up cause you had it loose while working. Check your parkingbrake mechanisme. There's a small peg which actuates a switch. Check inside the slot it runs through to see if the cable isn't catching something. This usealy only happens if you pull the lever with the cable disconnected and than push it back in. Cause there's nothing to keep the innercable tight it useally catches something, get's bend etc.

Even when i push in on the the switch with my finger the brake light still stays on .... i guess it is the switch ?
What do you think ?

 

The brake light is also the vacuum indicator. Mine sometimes stays on and stops as soon as I drive a few feet and use the brake.
If you can short circuit the switch and it stays on it's definately something else.

 

Why did you get a driveline brake to begin w/ ? Just curious.

The only reason these are produced is for rear disc brake swaps where you dont use calipers w/ the parking brake mechanism because thats a b**h to fab in.

Otherwise the stocker setup is much better.
