Aisan 2 Barrel Carb Rebuild Issues

Hey Guys & Gals

I decided to take the old carb off the lil truck the other day (High Idle Speed; Black Smoke; General Performance Issues). I had ordered a rebuild kit, got about 75% of the way done and realized that I didn't have the o-rings to put in the primary and secondary venturi rods. I've called the company that I ordered the kit from and they told me they cant get them aftermarket anymore. I was wondering if anyone on here knew of where I could find these o-rings or what I could use to replace them effectively?

That is weird. What carburetor rebuild kit did you buy?

Those "O" ring seals should have came as part of the kit and should still be available to put them in the kit.

I don't remember what size they are, but they need to be rated for gasoline use.

I think one of them is molded into an oval shape and the other is just the standard "O" shape from the kits I have bought.

I will have to check to see if I have some spares.

Hardware stores, NAPA, and Rural King have all kinds of o-rings to choose from. Probably find them at Home Depot or Lowe's too in the hardware section with the nuts and bolts.

I bought the Toyota 22R Carb Repair Kit (15827A) from yotashop.com. From the diagram it looks like they both are oval shaped. The one that came out of it is somewhat tall and wide (and obviously torn, that's how it was when it was removed, other side completely missing). I was afraid to slap regular o-rings in it due to restriction of flow threw those ports. Thank you for checking!

I will try those places once I'm sure I can't find the correct O-ring to go back in it, Thanks!

So I went ahead and bought some o-rings from Napa, hopefully they won't cause any issue being that they are a little thicker than what came out of it. We'll see! Thanks for the suggestions and advice!

Everything is buttoned up except for the choke housing and setting up the secondary metering needle assembly!

Do you remember what size you bought? Somebody else might run into the same problem later.

I was pretty sure that a round o-ring could make that oval shape just as long as the right size was used. The old ones you took out probably had a long time to take a compression set making them smaller than what they originally were. Hope it works OK!

Right, sorry. It appears to be about 9mm O.D. and 5mm I.D. Hope this helps. I'll post later once it's back on the truck!

9mm O.D. 5mm I.D. Used to replace pri/sec venturi o-ring.
