I am thinking of putting a oil pressure gauge and tach in , i do have the dash ones an they work but i dont know how accurate.Do any of you know ,tried,have a brand that is reputable and accurate?

 

Auto Meter makes some really nice gauges that last a lifetime. I have an old tachometer in my mustang and its lasted a really long time. Cant go wrong with them. You can order them cheap on Summitracing or Jegs.

You can also get pillar gauge mounts as well if you cant find a place to install it.

Thats cool now i have to find 2 1/16" guages.an then learn to rig em up.

 

www.summitracing.com has everything you need. I get all my gauges from there.

 

I have glow shift gauges in mine. I like them. They probably aren't as good as autometer, but I have had great luck with them. I ordered a universal pillar from them. It was $20. And with a little trimming it fit perfect.

 

 

I use both dummy gauges and real time monitoring, even the cheap one work good. Put them in, it's simple and you weont regret it.

 

One thing I've always wondered is why don't they "rotate" the gauges' mounts so the driver can see them straight-on?
It's almost like you have to be 7' tall to see them correctly.

Error from parallax can be a beach.

 

Actually with the way the pillars are in our trucks you look pretty much dead on at them in mine. This picture was taken at a weird angle because my camera lens wouldn't pick them all up otherwise.

 

The hardest part is making sure you have the correct adapters as most all after market gauges will need them.

I will cast another vote for Autometer I have had some in use for a very long time.

I don`t really care for the pillar pod mount it is to distracting for me to look there after all these years.:wabbit2:

 

Yeah, dumb me. I didn't realize the top gauge was just a hair above the wing window.

This could come in handy if I decide to megasquirt my 'yota.
