94 4Runner HG Repairs, (need advise).

Original post:

Newbie here (apologies in advance if this sort of thing is frowned upon..., I didn't get any replies to the update questions from the orig post, so I thought I'd ask again in a new thread.

"Mechanic just confirmed that the head gasket failed at #1 and #6 pistons. The Metal rings were both broken!
Anyone have any idea as to what the cause may be???
In one of the other posts I remember reading that the heat from the exhaust manifold affects the #5 & #6 pistons due to its' proximity, but it shouldn't affect #1???
This truck had blown the original gaskets at 38.5K in 1998 (repaired under recall), and now again at 99.5K in 12/05.
I got the overhaul kit from 'Stealer' and will be also replacing the belt.
I'll also have the head resurfaced.

Question:
1) The above mentioned kit includes Head, ValveCover, Oil Pan, and Exhaust gaskets. It also contains 'all the seals' and 'Fuel injection O-Ring', does anyone know if a head job usually includes replacing all the above? Or will I need to specify to the mechanic?
2) And if so, do I need to get everything (listed above) done?
2) Lastly, while the engine's open, does anyone have any suggestions as to anything else I should address???
Thanks in advance for the valuable advise you guys dispense!
Sabah

Fuel injecter rails must be removed when pulling heads, along with plenum & everything on the top of th engine. Check out posts by Bumpin'Yota for new details. He is in the process right now. Make sure the gasket set you got is OK. Many have had problems with sub-standard gaskets (may be why yours blew so early). I have a .94 3VZE w/201k miles, no HG issues (recall done @ 92k). www.engnbldr.com is a recommended leader in gasket stuff. I don't know "STEALER" stuff....

Here is Bumpin's thread: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116/pics-my-hg-replacement-sloooow-going-88538/

anyone else?

The #1 and #6 cylinder have a back fire were it go into the intake and will eventually burn up your injector so check your injector for burnt, buy yourself some header to compensate that problem, from I heard air flow to those cylinder are weak due to the cross over pipe were made, Ishino HG should be the right HG to be replace, when you reach to opening your head make sure you also check your knock sensor include the wire to it, and don't forget the intake manifold gasket with some prematex sealent.
