I just got a 94 4runner and the rear window doesn't come down. I don't hear the motor running when I hit the switch. The guy I bought it from said the window worked sometimes. I was wondering how to get the panel off the tailgate if the window won't lower. Any ideas?

 

There's quite a few posts 'bout problems with the rear windows, use the search feature at the top of the forum page, under your username in the blue line.

 

first, check to make sure that the rear wiper is sitting ALL THE WAY on its cradle... if its not, then the window WONT roll down...

if that dont work, try your key in the keyhole on the tailgate...

if that dont work, call the guy you bought it from and ask for 100 bucks back for selling you a broken truck...

 

Mine doesn't work sometimes and I just press the "lock" buttom a couple times and it starts working again. Must be a bad connection or something.

 

Try using the key in the lock in the tailgate...

 

right after posting the question I went and tried it again and the window went down, but I had to push it. got the tailgate open and removed the cover. a little rust on the motor. looks like the gear at the motor is stripped. I think I will try to find a motor and regulator assembly.
