'93 Toyota Pickup Headlight Issues

Hey all! I have a '93 Toyota pickup singlecab truck that I love dearly. In the last year a lot of little issues keep creeping up. Lately, it has been that my headlights won't turn on. I had this issue last winter, where randomly both headlights would not turn on but all other electronics and lights work (brake lights, parking lights, turn signals etc.). I replaced the headlights, checked the relay fuse and replaced it, and soaked the connectors in a vinegar solution and scrubbed them clean. Nothing seems to work. In the summer the headlights seem to work reliably, but in the winter during the shorter days they don't. Sometimes after the car has been on for a while they will turn on, but it is at random.
Any ideas? I thought it could be related to the cold but don't know what to do about that issue. Someplace I should check for loose wires or connections first? Any tips appreciated!

A problem well-stated is almost solved.

If you hold the lever just right ...

OP, in essence you want to clean the contacts in the switch / lever in the cab. Go between them with some fine sandpaper lightly and the problem will dissapear.

PS: a general question. Why are all these people that register to get help all use their "real" names? Seems kinda weird to me, almost looks like a pattern. Whta happened to "normal" screen names?
