93 Toyota Pickup, hazard/signal problem

Hey guys. I am new to the site but not new to Toyotas. I love Toyota's and will post a pic of my truck soon. But I am having a major problem... My hazards and my turn signals do not work what so ever. They will click on, but nothing lights up, nothing on the dash, nothing outside, just nothing. I replaced the whole switch on the column, nothing. Fuses are good, inside the kick panel and under the hood, all good. I'm not to good with the wireing I'll admit that... I cannot find where the ground is or anything, can yall please help me?

I know with my hazard button removed nothing will work, are you talking the button on the dash or the turn signal switch on the column?? Might check the hazard flasher on the dash and see what's up. Also if you think it is bad get it from the yard if you have one, at the dealer they want like 80 bucks for it.

I took the switch on the column off. That has the wiper switch connected to it. Idk what else to try.. may just go back to ol hand signals.

I'd say find the wiring diagram and start checking.

Red face

When did the problem start??

What happened to cause it??

Does your horn work???

Are the blubs any good??

Open Flasher ??

loose connection in the fuse box on the female side .

Look for crushed or burnt wires.

You say they "click on", but what does that mean? Can you hear the relay clicking at all?

Does the replay click just once, not at all, does it click very rapidly or does it click at the normal pace?

it clicks, like it makes the clicking noise when u turn it on so you know that they are on. its the normal pace but it only does it once or twice now.

As Discombobulate hints, everything goes through the hazard switch, so if that's broken/disconnected/stuck nothing will work. I'd start by pulling the flasher and confirming I have 12v at pin 2, with the hazard switch in either position (it pulls from different fuses depending on position). You need a multimeter; without one you are just wasting your time.

There is a procedure to diagnose this; you have reviewed this, haven't you? http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/1990-1995...e/headligh.pdf

I am having this same problem in my 94 pickup. When I flip over the stick to turn it would click twice and then stop. Neither the green arrows nor the turn signals would light up. When I hit the hazards button it would make this high pitch sound but nothing would happen. I just changed out the flasher relay and now the turn signals don't do anything at all but when I turn on the hazards the flasher relay will make one click and then nothing else happens.

Hazard flasher relay

I am having the same issue with my 89 Yota. Found out there are actually 2 flasher relays. there is the normal flasher relay 3 prong $10 part. There is also another one that is on the left side of the steering column. This one looks exactly like the flasher relay 3 prong but has an additional metal piece on the bottom im guesing a ground strap of some sort. this relay controls all flashers. Its a $60 relay. PN#FC620. I am going to try my luck at a junk yard insted of paying the $60 hope this helps
Thx Nick heres a pic of what it should look like 93 Toyota Pickup, hazard/signal problem-flasher-relay.jpeg

90 4Runner signals, intermittent wiper and wiper wash dont work

I have a 1990 4Runner sr5, 3L, automatic. The turn signals, the intermittent wiper, and the wiper sprayers all do not work. We replaced the hazard switch and the signal arm on the left. My mechanic has narrowed it down to the combination signal/wiper assembly that goes in the steering column. My VIN calls for part number 84310-35400. This is the combo switch that does not have the rear wiper option. This part is discontinued, I can't find it anywhere. Part number 84310-35480 is the same part for the models with a rear wiper. My question is, will this part work, does it have the same wiring harness configuration? Could I get this part and not hook up the rear wiper part since there isn't one? If it is compatible, it would be a good modification because I could have the rear wiper wired and installed?

What happened before that?
No noise with either hazards or turn signals would lead me to think:
1) Bad blinker relay,
2) Missing blinker relay,
3) Bad connection to blinker relay, especially ground wire.

Did you inspect your blinker relay?
Test it according to this, IF your schematic is same as my first-gen.
