From: Bryan Tx,
It's not too late for me to paint my block silver instead of black like I was planning.

well, got everything on my shopping list....kinda..

got all kind of thread stuff, thread lock, copper rtv, clear and silver engine paint, assembly lube (LUCAS not Permatex) and also got grease...i will post it up to see if it meets the flock's approval.

Unfortunately, I'm done for today, not shaping up as anticipated and have a meeting tonight....but, I'm off tomorrow again.

Oh yeah, still need an inch/lb torque wrench, Auto-Zone no gots and neither did Ace Hardware....so maybe a trip to Harbor Freight tomorrow.

Now, if someone could tell me more about this packing grease in the oil pump thing again, I'd appreciate it.

I don't know much about this packing you keep talking about nor do I want to...
Now that's funny!!!

I'd stay away from lock tight. I didn't use any of that on mine. I found that everything was tight when I took it apart. If you do use it be "Very" sparing with it.

I think all you need to do is pack up the gears in the pump when you go to install it.

Don't do it, as you may recall, that is a pain in the ass to remove anyways. The bolt will be continually pushed in by the rotational direction of the crank, so just slap it in there and roll. Plus, I can almost guaranty that you will pull that again before the project is over...

15 lbs, per an earlier ('85) FSM. Same for the TC cover.

Since my torque wrench only goes down to 50 lbs, this translates to "snug, but not he-man snug" for my garage.

hahahaha, thanks....I have a 3/8'' drive that goes 5 to 80 ft/lbs and a 1/2'' drive for the bigger stuff.

Oil pump is going to have to stay as it is because it's all oily...go figure.

the NEW crankshaft bolt won't be in and torqued down until I'm ready to start it up...
