***(NOTE TO SELF)***

when I say I'm going to straighten up before the wife gets home, make sure I straighten up before the wife gets home instead of goofing around on YOTATECH......YIKES!

YUCK!

1st of all I forgot how nauseating the smell of PB Blaster is.

2nd...I got ALL but 4 of the oil pan bolts off. I can't make myself small enough to reach them because the diff is in the way....maybe a wrench...not sure.

there's no way on God's green earth that the pan is coming out without dropping that diff. I can't see how it's possible. and right now it's massively in my friggin way.

I have to look on the "how to" thread and read up on HOW TO.....do this.

I thought you dropped the diff already? should be three bolts. two on the axle tubes (one on each side) and one on the front of the diff housingwhich you already have off because you took out the cross member. you shouldn't have to completely remove it but looks like you already un did the cv joint bolts? doesn't look like you took off the front drive shaft. un bolt that and let the diff rotate the driveshaft flange downward. Looks like you already got those three bolts off already. Don't make me come down there, I got work at 11pm lol.

No.

make sure you are looking at the right pics on that other thread....the clean truck with no rust is PARTYPEEPERS and the rusty crap one is mine,,,,,,Pennsylvania versus anywhere else.

the diff is "movable" only slouches down about an inch (worthless)....and so I am faced with a double dilemma...getting at those 4 bolts and getting the diff out of the way. The other part is, i keep looking at these rust bolts thinking i'm definitely going to snap something or round off a head.

are your cv shafts now resting on the LCA's? if not then I think you have to remove those two axle shaft bolts. Sorry didn't realize they were two different trucks lol. Let me go snap a pic real quick.

Oh come on, don't tell me someone who's as addicted to Yotatech as you doesn't know what CV stands for. He's talking about your front axle shafts! He wants to know if they're resting on your Lower Control Arms (the lower arms in the IFS).

ok I will work with that photo, oh and don't mind my leaking ENGBLDR oil pan gasket. lol.

If the front driveshaft is out, and those two bolts are out and the front bolt is out that diff should lower and tilt itself enought to if the truck was sitting on its tires the drivehsaft flange would dang near hit the ground and the CV shafts would be on the Lower Control arms.

BUT....I can clearly see from PARTYPEEPERS' pics that he did NOT follow that procedure.

yes. don't get scared when it drops free, it will not fall out onto the ground as long as you didnt remove the cv shaft bolts. just watch you head when it tilts backwards. oh and don't hit your head on your tow hook either it hurts like hell. I've done it like 10-20 times I've lost count.

Ok, instead o puking I went out and had a smoke and sprayed PB Blaster on those mounts. If I loosen those I should get some movement, eh?

I skipped steps 1,2,3,4 on that.....looks like PARTYPEEPERS did too as well it looks like he removed 2 bolts from the TOP of the CV?
