91 22re started missing like crazy

hey there Yotatech. I posted on here about a month ago, i was having a overheating issue which turned out to be a bad HG i replaced that and ever since my Yota's been running like a champ. I also took a suggestion from a post i saw stating to drill out the jiggler on the thermostat to allow the truck to burp better which seems to have helped with temps as well, the trucks running very cool now.

well, this past week i've noticed stuttering misses while on the freeway, and just randomly when i drive, seemed to happen very unfrequently ranging through all RPM ranges. Well this morning driving to work it started off doing it a bit more while on the freeway. then when i got off the exit and into town it started doing it like crazy. almost like it's running out of gas, or possibly electrical. it's idling fine with 0 stutters but as soon as i give it some gas it starts. so i shut it off and am working now, after work i'll pop the hood and check some things and fire it up and see if it's still doing it. also, i mentioned the above information because doing that slight thermostat mod seems to have made the truck run incredibly much cooler... i don't know if this affects any kinds of sensor i read something about a cold start injector stuck open or something. anywho if anyone has any info as to where to start please reply. Thanks Yotatech.

Rick

I saw a post that mentioned a bunch of things. One of them being a ground wire disconnected. The one going from the back of the block to the firewall to be exact. And I noticed mine was disconnected. So far It seems to have cleared up but I only tool it around the block. I'll find out tommorrow for sure.

Anyone know why this would cause the miss? I'm assuming it has something to do with a bad ground for the fuel injectors. But not too sure.

apologies for bringing this thread back, but i was reading through my subscribed threads and when i read this one i realized i never put in my resolution to the problem. basically, the FIX to this was a bad ground on the battery. the ground was loose, i cleaned up a bunch of grounds and the stalling/missing stopped happening. hopefully this can help the next person

Bad grounds can cause so many issues with EFI it would be funny if it weren't for the vast number of people experiencing problems.

Thanks for the update.
