Did you connect the wiring to that one sensor in the back of the manifold, before putting the plenum on? It looks like you still have wires hanging out back there.

She Runs Kinda!

Well i got it going this morning had a few little mishaps but t-got them taken care of i started out with a antifreeze leake but it was nothing major just the plastic cover over the thermostat forgot to tighten the bolts down, then i was 180 out on the destributer got that fixed

NOW it wont idle right, i sits at about 200rpms and barely moving and then adjusting the timeing doesnt help much, every once and a while it will idle up REAL high and i have to shut the truck off anyone herd of that? any ways i bled the breaks and the clutch so now all i have left is to figure this idle problem out and the timeing if you know anything or have any idea let me know thanks!!

Small sign of life!

Went to the junk yard to find me some parts! this is what i found. just like it sits! Someone took it all apart and didnt even take anything. nothing was missing!

Ok new update!!! QUESTIONSS

Ok scratch the last post that was an axident on my part!!!!

Ok so it idles at about 500 now when stumbles a bit then dies. if i turn the cap sometime is idles a little better sometimes a little worse but all in all it dies. i havnt adjusted the throttle screw yet and i havent completely set the destributer? Anyone have any ideas?

So far im thinking mabe i crossed a vaccume hose?
Would this happen if i was a tooth off on the timeing belt?
What do you think i need to be looking at to fix this?

Other then just that problem shes running i bled the clutch and brakes fresh power stearing fluid break flid antifreeze and oil! shes ready to run after i fugure out this idle thing... Also i held the throttle 3/4 open and soon as i turned it on it would studder a bit then would rev right up but then if i let off it would go back to 500rpms and die? Need a little more help guys come on im almost there!! youve got me this far!!! Thanks alot yall!!

Verify your all of your timing (ignition and cams), check your wires, check your hoses. If you can give it a little gas, and can maintain speed, give the idle screw a tweak.

Wink

well i did a little checking and got her to run better lol i didnt notice i had one of my plug wires disconnected! but i got it now! lol, after that i realized i was just trying to move to fast so i took me a step back and found one or 2 other little things. i pulled one of my vaccume lines and plugged it and it ran alot better but still idles low so im going to mess with the idle screw in the morning and do a little vaccume plugging! i also think the bad gas idea is a factor i thought about it and this truck has been sitting for almost 3 months and before that this motor had sat for 3 years and i never cleaned out the fuel lines or anything so im going to get some premium and octane buster tomorrow and see if that helps theirs less then a 1/4 tank so i can get away without having to drain the tank! i also had some NASTY white stuff in my clutch mater cylinder when i bled it it was not pretty.. but i got it all out and the clutch and breaks work very well!! its all looking good and THANKS CYBERMAN!!! i appreciate the call today it helped me find out im an idiot and had the hose clamp in the way of the throttle so it was stuck open 3/4 of the way!! you know me always doing something stupid!! anyways should have her running in the morning and ill let you all know how it goes WANT TO SAY THANK YOU again for all the help on here especially anthony and cyberman!!

If your ever in florida you'll have to give me a call i owe yall a beer!

Cam timing, i.e. the timing belt, crank at tdc, and cams aligned.

Just let me know where in FL. I was just in Orlando last month.

The computer shouldn't matter. As long as you used most of the sensors from the old engine, it's not going to be that big of a deal.

Keep pluggin away.

Help Update

Ok NEW PROBLEMS!!

Got it running better, started today off moving to a heated garage with a concrete floor! The truck backed up on the trailer and then drove off into the garage, then we realized we had a fuel leak found it under the top of the intake and fixed that then we had a vaccume line problem so we switched a wire or two and then capped off one or to, then we fixed the manifold leak i had, Then we took a timing gun to it and got timing set to where its supposed to be 10 degrees off top dead center, it idles right now at about 800rpms and starts right up PROBLEM IS

1. it doesn't build pressure in the radiator we took it for a quick up the street and back before we got to the end of the road the check engine light came on then we turned around and got back we realized that the top of the radiator was BURNING and the bottom was ice cold, so i went and got a new thermostat its a 180degree one now i let the thing run for 20min in the garage and it built up to half temp no engine light came on but it still didn't build hardly any pressure in the top hose. the heater in the truck works also. then i tried to drive it home which is only 2 miles down the road got 1/2 way there and engine light came on again. so when i got home i put it back in the garage and let it run for about another 20 min no engine light nothing no leaks ran fine, took it for a drive got about a mile down the road engine light again. I don't get it. and i don't know for sure i really didn't test the theory but it seems that the engine light likes to come on around 50mph. im not sure if that has anything to do with it or not.

Also timing seems dead on but it still sounds like i have a little miss it idles fine but if your listen real close you can here the tone change from time to time just for one hit tho. its kinda hard to explain

oh cant forget i shorted out my diagnostic box you know how you check your code from your check engine light and it flashes like its throwing a code but i don't know how to read what its saying, and that is with no check engine light on i dont know what that means exactly. if you can think of any ideas from this let me know ill post some more pics tomorrow
