90 Sr5 Rebuild Paint Everything! PICS

Ok so i got the video loaded and a few pics of the truck..i just loaded em all at once so ill post them in the same post.
I started this video right before i turned the key. So the 1st flash you see is the 1st one that popped up. i couldn't tell if it was throwing multiple codes or one long one so i recorded for a minute and a half i figured that had to be long enough to read the code it seemed to get repetitive anyways if anyone know what its saying let me know! thank you

I read the codes, see your other post. There are a couple of techniques for burping the system, but squeezing the radiator hoses will help.
Just make sure there is coolant in that engine. On my first start, I failed to put some coolant in through the top of the engine. That didn't seem to allow that temo sensor on the top to do its job.

Ok i burped the rad i pulled the truck up on some 8inch ramps and started it up with the heat on high! i also disconnected the negative cable for 5 min and let it sit. after i did that i put it back on and it was a constant blink and the maual says that means everything is ok! now after i burped the rad i took it for a test drive and it seemed fine went up and down the road a few times low rps not past 3rd gear everything was fine got out on the main road about a football field down check engine came on so i got back off the main road shut it off turned it back on no light? started heading home low rpms low speed never came back on. got home checked it again Its throwing a 42 and a 51 code. i dont know what that means exactly but i looked up under the truck and my spedo cable isnt connected which explains why my spedo doesn't work I DONT KNOW WHERE THAT PLUGS IN ON THE TRANNY THO!!!
Also after the 5 min ride i still had no built up pressure in the rad hoses. it doesn't over heat the heat in the truck works fine but it still worries me ya know is that normal? Another thing is the radiator is SUPER HOT and nothing else is the water is pretty warm but the hoses are still cold? I dont get it. also remember its 30 degrees here and it was only a 5 min ride after i 15min of idle so it may not have had much of a chance to over heat??? help me
WHERE DOES THE SPEDO CABLE PLUG INTO A MANUAL TRANNY?
WHY AM I NOT BUILDING ANY PRESSURE IN MY RAD HOSES?
WHY AM I STILL THROWING A 42, 51 CODE?
THANKS

The good news is that both codes are not of concern for the mechanical nature of the engine.
Code 42 - Speed Signal is not input to the ECM for at least 8 seconds during high load driving with engine speed between 2750 and 4000 RPM.
Since your speedo isn't connected, it's going to continue to throw a 42 code and flip the CEL. But it's not going to do it until you're above 2750 RPM for at least 8 seconds. That explains why the light isn't kicking on until after you get up to speed over a long distance. Puttering around the block won't keep the RPMs up long enough to cover the 8 second span. Fix your speedo and it'll go away.
Code 51: Displayed when A/C is ON, IDL contact OFF or shift position in "R", "D", "2", or "L" positions with the DLC1 terminals E1 and TE1 connected.
You're A/C is on or the ECM thinks it's on with the E1 and TE1 connected. So you've got the E1 and TE1 terminals connected on your diagnostics cable. The A/C is on while the engine is not in idle. This can give a false read. Put it back in P or N and turn the A/C off. If this is already done, it's likely a residual from you zapping the diagnostic cable. Either way, it shouldn't trigger your CEL while driving, I don't think. That's solely connected to the speedo. Still you may want to look into replacing the DLC.
As far as the coolant situation...sounds like you're not circulating coolant. And that means the thermostat or the water pump. Since you've already done the thermostat, I'd look at the water pump. Still, I'm not sure you have a problem. If the cooling system is working properly it should always build some pressure in the hoses. It relies on that pressure to keep it from overheating. It's not unusual for coolant coming into the radiator to be hotter than that coming out. That's the purpose of a radiator. It may be that 15 minutes isn't enough time to build up enough heat in this cold weather to pressurize it. A longer trip may be in store. Drastic differences in what's coming into the radiator and what's going out is not uncommon on short trips. The engine hasn't ran long enough to even it out. If you're getting coolant to the core (heat inside), you're getting circulation. I think if you ran it a bit longer you'd see it even out. Just use caution and be ready to shut it down if it overheats. You can test the coolant for circulation by removing the cap once the thermostat opens (before it gets to hot) and working the throttle by hand. You should see the coolant dip then surge a bit as the water pump moves it. You can also pinch off the lower coolant hose and the water pump should push coolant out the top of the radiator (don't do this too long or you'll deprive the engine of coolant - you should see the results immediately if the thermostat is open).
Finally, your speedo. There should be a spot on the driver's side of the transmission towards the rear where the speedo connects. I want to say it's on the lower half.
Hope it helps and get that truck back on the road.

I guess that depends on the transmission. On my '91, it's at the very back of the transfer case, on the passenger side, right before the driveshaft.

Alright shes running drove it to town and back 2 times today.. AND I GOT PRESSURE IN THE TOP RAD HOSE>>>WHOO HOO!! ok so next problem
I HAVE NO BLINKERS! they worked before all this but now nothing i can switch it up and down nothing happens i checked the fuse its just fine.. and ideas where is the relay?
I CANT PLUG MY SPEDO IN, I DONT THINK? the cable i have is off a 90 truck with a 5 speed the T-case/Tranny is off the 93 set up, now i saw what looks to be where it plugs in its on the back of the tcase but it looks like an electrical plug but the cable isnt electrical its just a copper wire ill talk pics tomarow if no one knows what im talking about.
After that i think thats all ill try and get a pic or two of her tomarrow to finish up the build but please help!! thanks
PS....Thanks anyways anthony ive been waiting for you to show back up you disappeared for a few day! yep its running just having a little tune up random question thing going on...

Alright Anthony i took a cupple for you today!
I painted and put back on my Skid plate!

Then i took it for another drive i took an icy dirt road and well it was fun to say the least!

So now that the motor runs Friday i will be putting it to the REAL test which is a 1268 mile highway drive back down to Florida where there is NO snow!
Also just to keep up on this thread i posted a few other new threads to get some answers to my problems a little faster i wasn't getting much help on this thread!(Anthony quit on me)
1.I was throwing code 42,43,51-which i found out that all of them are because i don't have me Spedo cable plugged in, which plugs in on the passenger side of the T-case in the back. I also found out that in 91 they switched from mechanical to electronic and mine does not adapt.. i will fix that back in Florida
..
2.I was having an overheating problem and i wasn't building any pressure in my Rad lines top of bottom but i did have heat in the truck, I had to Burp the system by pulling it up on 2 8inch ramps and turn the heat on full blast and squeeze the top tube to work the air out. I also changed the thermostat just in case.
3. No 4x4 I didn't hook up my vacume lines correctly so it was not locking the ADD in to 4x4 swapped some vacume lines works perfect now!
4. No turn signals-----------------------I STILL GOT NO TURN SIGNALS NO ONE HAS HELPED ME YET.. But they did say it may be that i didn't hook up my hazards and somehow that may be a factor i still haven't ripped apart my dash to find out.
Now all i have left to do is install a new windshield But that may just be an insurance job!!
Thanks for all your help guys!

Just wanted to add The 1st trip to the gas station right after i gave it a quick bath!

Does anyone know if i can up plug the electronic plug in on the back of my transmition and just rid up the mechanical one? just wondering?
Also can you pop your hazard switch out without having to pull your dash?
