Got some more stuff done today not alot it was snowing all day and extremely cold!
i did what i could with no heat but im not in much of a hurry i dont get my keyway till tuesday, if nothing goes wrong im hopeing to have eveything done by friday and then ill be able to do final tests and things this weekend and take my trip back to florida first thing next week!! some new pics
Woke up to some snowing this morning! So i watched me some sunday football!

Then started with the oil pan shows after i cleaned off the old gaskit and put the new one on.

After i got my heads on still not torqued on just sitting there with the gaskit on ill finish that up tomorrow and then clean up the rest of the head ill probable do the intake tomorrow and the exhaust manifold

Its cold some snow as i came in from the barn!

Just wanted to say i know it dont look good but it wasn't supposed to look good just work right. i think after i get her all done im going to drive it back to Florida then sell it.. i want an 89 extended cab 4 cylinder. so im just getting it back together to make it home and sell, its sad to put this much work into something im not keeping but i just dont like the v6s.
ANYONE SEE ANYTHING IVE DONE WRONG SO FAR?

Do you use RTV anywhere on your intake?
Any tricks to making sure you put your heads on Perfect?
How do you oil your heads once you put them back on? should i just dump some regular oil in there and rub it around? or do you use some kind of grear lube in specific places?
Im having trouble with my oil pan i have at the same bolts that came out of it but half of them wont re thread? is it just me not doing something right or has anyone else had this happen? do the bolts go in a certain order or place?
Does anyone have pictures of setting timing the right way?
i haven't looked on here yet just asking all my questions at one time.
Om my water pump one of the brass pieces came out how do i fix that or can it be fixed?
I have it circled 7 posts before this i already asked this question no one answered.
Anything to remember as i finish this up? anything that's
tricky and i may overlook?
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP AHEAD OF TIME!!

2. heads on perfect?, follow the directions on the sticky above for the manual.
3.oil your heads? hmmmm, cam lube when installing cams.
4. this is my favorite question, oilpan bolts no worky, ok heres what i did, HOME DEPOTTTTT. got new bolts because the oilpan gasket was a little more thick on the new install, and the nuts, well i just finesed them in
5.look in the sticky for the manual, it shows an awesome diagram, now remember to turn the engine over twice to check your final timing. yes it will be off, yes you need to redo it. you get the hang of it, i think i advanced the 2 cam sprokets to get it dead on. oh no pics, sorry
6. the waterpump brass thing, hmmmmmm. never had that issue
hope this helps.

I see it... well i tried to see it but i cant blow it up without distorting it i just went back through my old pics from the beginning and i think i found it it looks like a regular bolt it doesn't have the top like the head bolts do hum?
Im also wondering why your motor is coming out sideways what that a special thing that Toyota did with 4 runners i didn't know they put sideways front wheel drive motors in them?
gotta give you a hard time about doing everything (sideways) backwards
and the garage looks to be just a little short, do you have a rebuild thread on here? or have you not done it yet?
I want to get it all put together tomorrow and get it on the cherry picker and ready to drop in on Thursday that's the plan so then i can do plug and play Friday and bleed the breaks and clutch then test drive Saturday and first oil change Sunday and then ill be ready for my 1200 mile test drive on Monday back to Florida before it snows any more here!!!
Hope for the best Prepare for braking down in the middle of no ware!! GO YOTA
