Unhappy 89 4runner 22re question....Battery light

Went to start start it up this morning, after letting it warm up, I release the E-brake, the brake and battery light stayed on. If I am not mistaken, that means a problem with the alternator?

Any input on what else it might be?

Take it to Sears, Autozone, whatever and have both the alternator and battery checked on the load tester.

easy way to rule out the battery if you have another vehicle close at hand is to throw that battery in and if it doesn't change anything then its the alt. Another way to check the alt is to see if the voltage meter goes up slightly after you start the truck, if yes then its probably not the alternator.

Its the alternator. Just replaced mine sunday, had the same problem.
/edit
The Battery Light and the Brake Light combo are the idiot lights for the alternator, just FYI.

Got one yesterday. That is this weekends project, along with football and beer.
