88 4 Runner - Clutch Help / Advice

Hi. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 88 4runner and have run into some trouble. The clutch is completly soft, there is no tension on at all. There is a leak in the clutch fluid line and I think that there might be a airlock in the line now if the clutch had been dry and driven for a bit.

My question is. Could it be either the airlock or maybe a spring problem ? If so, is it easy to bleed the clutch line or fix the spring. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks

Garth

Sounds like the Clutch Slave Cylinder,
This is very common for the slave cylinder to go out .
It is a easy fix and cost about $20 .

Just FYI, I haven't had good luck with aftermarket slave and MCs... I've also seen master cyl go after replacing the slave.
If there is a leak in the line, you need to fix that before doing anything else.
You bleed the clutch just like the brake system to get the air out.

yep, bleed the clutch. if its a leak then replace whatevers leaking, and bleed it. It bleeds just like brakes do, but some people use little tricks to get air out easier.
