Great - I’m interested in Chrome. I also need the corners, brackets, and hardware. I only have the corners to wheel well long pieces today.

You have to make the corners also, slacker, they're almost impossible to find.

Small Switches: I'm still working on these. I purchased T3 Twist Style for the Gray 4Runner. The housings were too small, but I was able to pull the LEDs out and put them into the OEM housing and they work fine.

I'm missing a housing on the Rear Window Up/Down, so I'm trying some T4 and T5 twist type to see if they will fit instead.
the factory dash lights are 168, not 194, although they look identical. at least for dash illumination, high beam indicator, and flasher/turn signal indicators. not critical, as you are replacing with led anyway.

Thanks for correcting that.

Hey quick question on your carpet kit, I have been wanting to replace mine for a while went to the custom carpets site and for my truck they do not have the sound deadener or other options available. Did you have to get this custom added and call?

I searched your year as well and did not see these options available either just the standard kit??

Any updates or teaser pics of the paint

OEM 2nd Gen Front floor mats arrived! I’ve been told these are a close fit to OEM 1st gen. I’ll figure out something for the rear later on.

Also picked up my replacement Toyota OEM twist bulb for my rear window switch and swapped the halogen with a LED. For future reference, T4 LED Twist Type is the right size for small interior switches.

My motor worked fine (check operation first). However, my mast was broken. A forum member told me to go to www.theantennasource.com and they had replacement masts:Item name:
Toyota 4 Runner Antenna Mast 1984-1988
Item number:
A173

Took me a bit to get the old broken one out, but was an easy install from there.

Running into an issue with the Drivers Seat fabric tear. My local Trim Shop looked through 3 Detroit books, but no luck finding anything on '87 SR5 Gray Cloth. See attached pics of both the factory cloth and the "closest match" she could find.

I've searched Forum Classifieds and Ebay for replacements, but no luck so far. If we can find the specs on the material, she may be able to find some of it.

Any ideas?

Our 4Runners (Surf in the asian market) were assembled in Japan, I have a local friend living there, I asked him the same question last year, he searched for the supplier but he couldn't find the right cloth, he tried in a few car seat reupholstery shops but no luck. If you find something, I'm interested also.
What you can do is buy a 4Runner passenger's seat, they are in good/better shape than the other one (usuallly), then install that cloth in your driver's seat.

No, it just wasn’t feasible to paint the engine bay as well. They’ll stop below the fender line. Since it’s black, it should look really good with a clean black engine bay!

Yes, I got lucky - found a guy via Craigs List with 3 1st gens in a barn in Indiana! He is shipping me the substitute material today, along with 4-5 other small parts I was missing.

He usually sells local only, but I convinced him to ship these to me. Great guy, but a bit old school (doesn't have PayPal, etc) so I had to do old school verification of purchase.

Fingers crossed everything comes in early next week in good shape.
