Exclamation 87 22r rebuild HLEP!!!!

I have a sr project for school and i am doing a overhaul on my 22r. I was wondering if people can direct me to get a little more power out of my motor. i live in California so all parts have to be able to pass smog. I just put 31's on my truck so i would like to go faster then 45 up the grades near my house because i live just under Yosemite NP. I would like to find smog legal cam and maybe a carb or even smog legal headers. if u have some to sell or even know a sight please tell me but i am on a pretty tight budget.

power and smog restrictions don't really go together

However, the biggest power adders for the 22R would be a Header, Exhaust, Cam, and Webber carb.

Not sure if you can pass emissions or not. Most of the headers from various companies are 50 state CARB legal, as are some of the cams. I don't think the webbers are.

Being able to pass smog does not necessarily mean it's legal, nor vice-versa.

Me, being the weird sort of person I am...

... I would ask the teach if they have to carry CARB EOD #'s to be considered legal...

... or ...

... if you can get them through the referee program and accepted, would that make them legal?

Also, ask the teacher to clarify if final drives are required to carry an EOD.
