86 Runner rear window won't work anymore.
I just bought this truck a couple days ago and the rear window worked along with the defrost. But today after taking the top off and driving around I went and put the top back on and tried to roll up the window(with key in the back lock and with the button) but there is nothing happening. Also the defrost button that use to be lit up isn't. Checked the fuse panel under the dash and they were all good. I've been trying to figure it out but I just don't know...can anybody help?

wires in the driver rear corner of the shell must be connected, also make sure you put the bolt in the top that toggles the interconnect switch. Check 4crawler's site for a lot of good troubleshooting!

Also make sure your rear wiper is all the way up in the stowed position. If you go to my first post in my build sheet, it will tell you where to find a list of links to troubleshoot your rear window.

I'm pretty sure I just remixes what happened. I bought new bolts for the top since it only came with 3 when I bought it. And when i took off the top my friend and I put all the bolts in the hole without know that the hole for the window relay needs a shorter bolt and I think I broke the relay. So can anyone confirm this? And if I did is there a way I can fix it? Where can I buy a new one if it can't be fixed? And could I just bypass it and connect the wires that run in and out?

You can buy a new one from the dealer, or get one from the classifieds here. You can also pull the connector off the switch I believe and stick a wire into both sides to jumper it, this way you don't cut any wires and you'll be able to put it back to normal later.

my little switch thing broke so i cut the wires and put them together. works like a charm now. just dont hit the switch when the top is off. also, the wires that run from the top to the bottom on the driver side do NOT need to be connected for the window to work.
