86 4runner-throttle/kickdown cable assembly
I am looking for the throttle/kickdown cable assembly for my 86 4runner, has a auto transmission. I have posted in the classified section but I thought I would ask here.
I have looked everywhere and all attemps to order a new replacement part from toyota have failed.
Can anyone out there help me?

So toyota no longer make this part ?. Try your local transmission shops and wrecking yards. Another place to try is yota yard in Denver, google the name and it will come up, ive bought things from them before.

called the guys out at yotayard in Denver, they have them but prefer to leave them attached to the transmissions because they are such a pain to pull out. I thought I had one ordered from toyotapart.com yesterday, but it turned out they didn't actually have it. I called them back today and talked with the parts guy and he was able to track down like 10 dealers across the U.S. that were supposed to have one. I called a dealer in Southern MO, and made sure thay actually had the part in hand before placing the order, it should be here on Friday!
On another note, does anyone have a good diagram of the vacuum lines for a 86 22-rec engine? Got like two lines left I can't seem to figure out.
Thanks for all the help on the parts info everyone!

Type in your VIN on the home page and you should be able to get full schematics. They have everything for my '86 but I have a manual tranny so I couldn't see any auto stuff. It's a bit of a PITA to use compared to the old Toydiy site but hey, you take what you can get. Good luck.

I have a few pics of vaccum I've posted over the years in these threads. Maybe one of them will work for you.

Sorry for re-bumping a dead thread but I'm in the same predicament. OEM part is NLA and nothing aftermarket. Anybody know of one from a different Toyota model that might work or where to get a used one?

Sent you a PM. I do not know what the exact issue is with mine. I had some tranny work done and I was told that the issue is where it connects to the tranny. I'm gonna go look at it Monday and find out the details but the shop owner knows what he's talking about and he is the one that told me I need to replace the cable. After he told me I looked into it and I do recall having shift issues sometimes, like mashing the gas to make it drop a gear but it kind of shudders once and stays in gear.
