Anyone know what year Yota moved the door handle on the rear door of 4Runners to the outside?

 

96. Wouldn't make any sense to have an outside one on the 84-95.

 

Hi Inferno, thanks for that info! Now, not to ask the stupid question, but why would it not make sense? I have a '92 right now and the handle on the inside is driving us nuts. Was thinking about seeing if I grab a door from one of the newer models and swap it out with mine (of course, having to do the rewiring...) so we can easily open it. I'm not sure if it would work or if the sizes would even match.

Any thoughts on that?
