4runner and pickup front clip differences?

hello all,

smashed my '92 pickup/hilux last week and i am looking into a donor. i need the front clip / radiatior support, etc. as can be seen http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...Picture155.jpg (i forgot where i borrowed that but thanks to whoever took it)

i want to have as many options as possible when i go hunting for stuff at the junkyard and because there are many more 4runners than pickups out here i just want to make sure i don't end up pulling the parts from the wrong truck. obviously finding another '92 pickup would be the easiest but i don't think i will get that lucky.

question is, are there any other toyotas (pickups or 4runners from any other years) that share the same front clip?

also, i will be putting everything back to '92 stock and am not interested in swapping over to 4runner lights/grill but the fenders for 4runners are the same as the pickup fenders, right?

thanks in advance

89-95 pickups and 4 runners are all the same front end. The grills and lights changed but the structure/frame is the same.

incorrect

there are differences in the core supports for the two different grill styles

thus why when people do grill swaps, they also swap core supports too

see, this is what i was afraid of. cross-referrencing the few other threads on this subject i found inconsistencies and i want to clarify as much as possible.

if there's a difference between 4runners and pickups, i'm guessing it has to do with the need to house the bigger 4runner lights...

so the core supports on 4runners and pickups are not the same but are the fenders and hoods for 89-95 pickups and 4runners all the same?

what core supports will match my '92 pickup? any pickups or only 92-95?

thanks

You can swap a 92-95 4Runner grill, headlights at bumper on an 89-95 truck. From what I gather, you do not have to change the core support for the 4Runner one. A few on Yotaminis have done this buy drilling new holes.

if you have to drill holes, then they're not the same, are they?

if you need the entire front clip anyway, then just pull all your parts off the same donor vehicle, and you'll know for sure that everything will fit

Never said the where the same. The core support is not bolted on it is spot welded so to save him time and money he can reuse the truck core support and drill holes.

You can put the 4runner lights on a pickup. Ive done it, and it isnt that hard, I also didnt change out the core support, I just lined up the lights and screw them into the core support, however on the driver side i had to cut some pieces out the top of the ccore support also some wiring, again not that hard at all ...and it fit amazing... oem finish.

The only thing about 4Runner headlights is the beam pattern which absolutely sucks. But they look cool as hell!

Would you provide me more pics and info as to exactly how you did that without changing the entire core support? Looks great BTW
