Is anybody running this lift and what size tires do you have on with it? Also pics of tires with this lift?

If I was going to go with a Procomp I would get a stage 2...

By using the tabs instead of full length brackets you really need the braces to re-enforce the front end or else (at least IMO) it will be too weak to beat on.

Superlift, Rough Country and Skyjacker all use full length brackets that should be a lot stronger than the tabs the Procomps use...

Of course, you could probably weld the tabs to the crossmember and make it as strong as one of the others, but if you lack welding skills then I'd go with a stage 2 lift...

 

Oh and btw, any 4" lift will let you run 33x12.50's. Just be careful of the back space of your rims. They need to be 3.75" or less if I recall correctly.

 

I run 35 x 12.5 with 3.75 bs PRO COMP STAGE II with very minor fender well trimming

Not pro comp, but a 4" lift with 33's.

 

None of those bracket lifts are particularly strong.
They're most for milder wheeling and looks.
Out here in the big rocks (southern AZ) they simply don't stand up, if you play in the big stuff.
This is not unique to just bracket lifts for Toyota's, but to bracket lifts in general.
I can't count the number of 'em I've seen bent up after a run on one of the tougher trails that we play in sometimes.

show me some rocks in central florida and ill be happy to solid alxe my truck. i could have a 8.0" front in a matter of minutes.

we all build our trucks for different pourposes.

someone who commutes alot might install highway gears and some 31" street meats. -or- if he off roads on the weekend while hes not at the office he might just install some bjspacers and some shackels on it with some 32" all terrains under it.

me? well im surrounded by good 'ol florida mud. but i also have a 30 minute commute to college everyday. so i got two 2nd hand ifs lifts off of a guy that one toned/ 44" sts's/ SB350/ 350turbo'ed his 89 dlx ext cab. (which would never make a 30 minute commute to work everyday.)

so i installed the 4in and decided to just hold onto the 3.5" rancho since its rare. i still run my 31's during the week so i still get ok gas milage. but whenever i wanna go mudding i have my 33's ready to bolt up an go.

and say someone like you, (or anyone else in the west, or into rocks.) your going to build your truck to have as much flex as possible. sas/ springs or coil overs that yeild huge travel/ 36, 37, 38" irocks or something of the sort, and probably even an exocage if your that into it.

to each his own.

 

Here is a more functional way to get about 4" of lift.



2 inch body lift~150$ Summit Racing
1.5 inch balljoint spacers~120$ 4Crawler (BTW those allen heads are RUSTING in South Texas no less)
.5 inch torsion in my case over 2" bar crank~ as long as it takes you to figure out how to do it
3 inch rear spring~250$ Downey
2 inch rear blocks~18$ O'Reillys with connections

So about 600$, this is easier work, probably better quality springs, the BJ spacers can help the front actually flex a little and your Center of Gravity or COG isn't raised as much because of the body lift. And this is with 35x12.50's on 10 inch wide rim with 4.00" backspacing.

 

Amen brother... There isn't much reason to SAS a truck here unless you just keep breaking stuff or just want to go nuts. I know some guys around here that actually put their SAS trucks through the paces but that just isn't my style. I wanted a big truck with big tires, that was forgiving enough to still be a daily driver. None of that required a SAS.

And believe it or not, I love it the way it is...




I'm up about 8.5" in the front and almost 10" in the rear because I've been too lazy to redo the back. Eventually I'll lower it to match the front but for now it doesn't bother me too much.

Total breakage in the year since I did it: $0.00.

 

overdrive where is that? i may be going to ucf next fall and would have to meet up with you to go wheeling

im in too if you guys actually do this. ive been wanting to go to ocala and wheel with overdrive for a while now. im about 45 mins. away.

 

Definetly go with the stage 2. i know times wheres those front lateral supports probably kept front end from falling out.

 

There is probably going to be a FATTShack outing at Hard Rock sometime around Thanksgiving. I'll probably be heading out there. I'll post more info as it gets closer but just wanted to give a heads up.

 

I have a ProComp Stage II lift fo sale. Kit recomend 33 12.5's and 3.75 back space on rims but you can run 35's. So any how kit is completely brand new in original boxes with front stainless skid plate and high energy master bushing kit.
