3VZE turbo project teaser photos

Yes...i am the same one on the mr2boards
THe stock mani cant be heat wrapped as its the JOINT of the crossover area that heats up #6 as well...the mani is a big chunk of ลลลล on the drivers side. Its stupid man...if you saw it you would think "how stupid is this" and then laugh
Physics are the same but this is just another design flaw made on the poor 3vz-e.
I have pyrometers here as i install them on all the performance vehicles i work on, but the 4runner here is just for basic use and im kinda backed up in projects. Its something i want to look at tho becuase i noted a drop in temp when i installed the cam's into the engine (using a infared therometer at idle) but of course thats not as realistic as having a pyrometer.
Also i doubt anyone would want ot remove the stock mani and crossover just to coat it...its crap...get headers instead

No I don't work *for* them, but I work *with* them quite a bit these days
I would love to work on cars full time but it just doesn't pay the bills...so I'm keeping my day job (design engineer) and doing cars in evenings and weekends. We are going to be joint teaching a 3SGTE modification/tuning course (hopefully first session will be this summer) based around the AEM system.

There's no reason this has to turn into an arguement - that's just stupid. The crossover design for the 3.0 is horrible, and it causes HG and valve problems; that's just the way it is. Not sure why that's such an issue.
The other item is the head bolts. Throw them POS' away and replace with some solid ARP studs. That, in conjunction with some solid headers, will make the HG's much happier.
So, bottom line, I say throw a turbo at that thing and join the ranks of others who have already been successful at increasing the 3.0's performance...

Well, an update on the project....I screwed up just like everyone else trying to hop up the 3.0 and CANCELLED the project.
Reason? I rolled the truck before we could install all the stuff. It is now a race truck and I just can't trust the reliability of a custom turbo install in a 250-300mile race with no testing on the street or in non-racing conditions. So all the parts sit in my garage, such a shame.
