Quick Update

She's has official moved out of the garage on her own power. No more fuel leaks, and so far no other leaks. Pics to come.

EDIT:
Pics of her at idle in my driveway (sort-of) to check for any leaks.

Granted I still need to attach my bumper and a light or two. But hey, she started and moved all on her.

Thank You Everyone

Thanks Dragon, you were always there with a positive attitude when I would get down and always had some advice for me thanks. Now I'm really only have way there as I still need to finish the exhaust, pass smog, and complete a visible inspection at the DMV to get her fully registered, stupid salvage title.

After that gets taken care of, maybe before hand, I still have the new shocks to put on, the lift shackles, and crank (maybe replace) the torsion bars.

I'm also pondering an ARB Bull Bar (so hence replace the torsion bars).

Thanks again everyone. I'll keep posting the updates and pics here in a little bit.

Sounds Awesome...

She currently sounds like a 1400HP Monster truck. The headers are on but nothing else as far as the exhaust goes. I also got the new Skyjacker shocks on the four corners. She runs strong even lacking the exhausts back pressure. The new shocks made a huge handling difference also. The ride is smooth and turns are clean. My old shocks were the cheapest model monores that sears sold. Just to even fit on my truck they were at full extension and rode like garbage, I bought her that way, I did not do this myself. In comparision, when (not if) I by my next used truck/runner/etc I will replace the shocks ASAP. After I can get her down to the exhaust shop and then smogged (street Legal) I will really test her out then. For now my neighbors are pretty upset at the noise, but hey I only start her during the day and when I'm working on her. Updates and pics will come. Stay tuned and ask any questions you may have.

PS..would I do it again? HELL YEAH!

Updates

Ok first some updates, Tomorrow my truck is going to the exhaust shop to get the complete exhaust installed. This includes the Y-pipe, O2 connector, HP cat, muffler (either dynomax or flowmaster), and piping. She has been running great if not loud as hell with the open headers.

I got the shocks on and she is handling great. Skyjacker shocks are sweet. Thanks for the input on these 4Hummer. Now for some pics of my Yota almost ready to wheel.

This is how I accommodated the 2"BL and the shifter hitting the frame and my 4wd shifter.

I cut the plastic boot down to the last rib, thus allowing a base for the new shift boot. I used a 4 1/2" angle grinder to cut away some of the metal frame brace to allow for more shifter travel. And the final result is a smooth shift and some BLING BLING.

Rear shocks, I forgot to get pics of the front shocks.

My bucket seats will get installed after she is once again street legal. I also have a Cobra CB radio on it's way.

Yea, don't those shocks rule? They were worth the cash in my opinion. Whare did you get your headers and what brand are they? I'm planning on buying a Pace Setter soon but the only place I know of is Ebay and they are kinda hit or miss on availability (for my 22re). Lookin' good.

Painted Underbody

Already planned on it. The shocks rule, I can't wait to truely test them out. As for my headers I went with the Downey Ceramic coated headers. I found them Dirt Cheaper (as far as Downey Ceramic headers are concerned) at a store in SoCal called BAJA RACING PRODUCTS (technically Baja Concepts click HERE for their website) for $345 brand new sealed in a box. In this pic you can see the headers peaking out under the fender wall.

The Exhaust is ON!

I'll post pics later tonight as long as I don't get stuck at work. The system included the custom Y-pipe, connected behind the transmission, New Cat (Magnaflow CA emissions legal, creating an O2 sensor "port", new Magnaflow muffler 14", and 2 1/4" piping throuhjout. I went with the 2 1/4" since this was the size of the header pipes exit. My Cat, muffler, everything is 2 1/4" hopefully eliminating any restrictions from jumping from one size to another.

For the cost: I already had the headers, I put those on myself. I chose the Downey Ceramic headers. I picked them up for $345 from Baja Concepts . The total exhaust just ran me $550. Pretty steep but this shop does great work, faboulous customer service, and they've never treated me or any of my recommendations wrong, as long as they new they were paing a premium.

As for the big Question. How does she run? Freakin" Sweet man. She's a 4WD truck, not a luxury sports car. She's not taking any one off the line (then again I'm not trying nor do I recommend or plan to try this). She is shifting great, lot's more torque and an unquestionable gain in Horse Power. The sound is clean and smooth. The magnaflow was a great choice, THANKS EVERYONE for you comments and suggestions.

Hello, and permission to come aboard!

I having a heck of a time getting my cam pulleys off my V - 6 88 4Runner. Even with an impact wrench, and Marvel Mystery oil.

Any tips or suggestions folks?

Thanks.

Hey all. I got the cam bolts out! ALLRIGHT! A little propane torch action took care of it. Two bolts in two hours. Man, I am just zipping right along, eh?

Well, I'm down to the block now. Only the cooling syatem has the grey sludge. The oil is as clean as a whistle. Could the block be cracked?

The engine pic is with the head gaskets still in place, just the way they were when I pulled the heads.

Suggetions?
