3.0L Headers

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to the toyota scene, but I just purchased a 1989 pickup with the 3.0L V6 5speed manual. Has a toasted motor, but the guy gave me a replacement 3.0 . From what I've heard and researched the 3.0 wasn't the best engine. I want to keep it in till next winter when I start the restore, lift, and engine swap. But in the mean time, I want to get headers and a intake for the 3.0L. I found some, but I was looking for cheep ones to get me by. If there isnt any out there other than Thorley or Downey Headers, does anyone have any other power upgrades that are cheep? And where I can order them from.

Thanks,
Nick

There arent any cheap headers for our motors. I have heard good things about the thorleys though.

One of the best upgrades I have heard power wise is exhaust

Well I know there's Thorley and Downey headers, but I was mainly wondering if there were any other brands out there? And intakes and tv spacers. Any recommendations are welcome.

You can do this for about $20. I plan on doing it when I get a chance.

If you're willing to drop about $800 LCEngineering.com has the best headers on the market for our yotas, offered in both steel and ceramic coated. I have them for my 86' 22RE and I love em! Not a significant power gain though, just sound kinda cool if you couple them with a throaty exhaust.
