3.0 overheating...help

So, in case you're not from where I'm from, Southern Ohio is having an EXTREMELY hot summer/autumn. It was 92 degrees today and humid. Anyway, I've discovered something, my 3.0 HATES hot muggy weather. I was sitting at a long red light today and happened to look at my cluster, and actually watched my temp gauge raise up to just before the red. I freaked, blasted the heat and revved the engine a bit to get the coolant flowing some. It took about 45 seconds to a minute once the light turned green for the temp to get back down into the normal range. What is the problem here? I was just sitting there, no A/C, no crazy driving conditions or anything. At night time when it cooler the problem goes away. Any help? Thanks

I just put in a new radiator about 3 months ago, so the coolant and hoses are fine. As far as the thermostat goes, as far as i know its factory.

fan clutch also. might want to check the flux capacitor also, you know they produce a LOT of heat, since they gotta do all that nuclear work

outside temp shouldn't matter, there's definitely something up.

Make sure all air bubbles are out of the system.

I moved recently here in FL, filled the runner with stuff and towed a 5k lb trailer full of crap probably 6-7 times in dead FL heat/humidity.

Overheating

I had the same problem and it was 2 things that caused it for me :
Thermostat was sticking open and not letting coolant stay in Rad. long enough (like running w/o stat) .
And ,
The Radiator Cap was bad , it has a little one way poppet type valve in middle that allows the coolant to be returned to radiator when coolant/motor cools , it wasn't working so when it got hot coolant left and never came back which eventually led to the radiator being about a gallon low and the motor would get hot as well unless you revved it up a bit .
I had also already replaced radiator and coolant prior to this problem as well .
