3.0 blowing black smoke like diesel

When I start my truck up when its cold it likes to blow out black smoke. Also for about 20 minutes after running it. It likes to just about die when I let off the gas and then give it gas again. That really sucks when you try to cross intersections hoping your truck wont die. And I just put a new MAF sensor in. Thanks for any help in advance

no i haven't but I just picked up another 3.0 to replace it. Me and my buddys drained the oil and there were big chunks of metal and coolant so my problems run way deep. So hopefully This will fix the problem by getting a new one
