dont know about a 3.0, but for a 22re, the hardest part is the creation of a bracket on which to mount the AFM / Filter assembly.

Other than that, its just connecting hoses

Wait till a weekend unless you are willing to do it yourself and complete it in a day. Nothin worse than having to extend a project and be without a ride

swapping the intake shouldnt take more than a half hour... its one of the easiest mods to do on a 3.0 besides changing the oil for synthetic...

take a look at the ISR mod thread... (search for it)
it will show you exactly how its supposed to look after you get done...

good luck, and i hope you enjoy the grumble that your gonna get from it!

swapping the intake isn't hard, but creating mounting brackets can be a PITA, unless you go with solid metal tubing that is mounted, then there's no need

Hes got a V6, so there is NO mounting bracket...
it bolts from the throttle body to the VAFM... then the cone filter adapter bolts to that...

IIRC you would only need a bracket of sorts is if you put the cone filter on...

I only have 2 lines that were supplied with the kit, and then a small circular filter to place on the valve cover (at least im assuming thats where it goes) then i hooked up the other lines as shown. To the front of the top of the motor there are two old lines that came off and the two new ones went on. re attached the maf which the cone filter bolts directly to. Then i tried reversing the lines and still the same thing. Starts up then dies. PLEASE HELP!!

Just wanted to thank you all for the help on the intake problem. I replaced the AFM yesterday and now she runs fine. Got a good deal on one for 75 dollars at the local junk yard.

LOL ok I will see if I can get a recording and some pics up today. It sounds better and pushes me back now too. Plus the MPG is better already. Now before anyone knocks me on saying those 3 things, check it out. This had to improve on my truck and I knew it would the minute i took off the old equipment. This being because the old air filter had more leaves in it then you would find in a 100 foot oak tree! Also the pipe I recieved from Insys-USA was shorter then what it was supposed to be. So me being the gotta-have-it-now person I am, made it work. The pipe is short to the point that the AFM was sitting on top of the distributer cap literally. So I rotated it 90 degrees and heh, problem solved. I'm going to purchase some 2 1/2 inch pvc from lowes this week and make a little extension see if it fixes this issue. PICS comin by the afternoon!!
