So, what is backspacing?

Also I wanted to put on 1.5" BlowJob spacers up front on my second gen. and landcruiser coils in the rear.
How much of a lift do the landcruiser coils give?

Also, I want to put 33" tires on my truck after this little lift, but I was wondering if 35" could fit without doing anymore lift and without mauling the fenders? (I'm only asking because I'm confused about what backspacing is).

my cruiser coils gave 3.5 inches of lift. 35's def won't fit with no more lift. If you do just the BJ spacers upront, you may need to trim the pinchweld to stop rubbing. and this website will explain the backspacing.

Ok. So 3.5 inches in the rear and 1.5 inches up front. Hmm. Well my 4Runner's rear sags some so maybe it will work out to be pretty even? Do you think?

I think 33's would be big enough for right now anyway. So that's fine.

What is the pinchweld? I'm assuming it's a weld on or near the front fenders. ??

And I don't see a website to explain the backspacing.. Maybe you didn't type it.

with the cruiser coils and bj spacers my 4runner sits with the front 1 inch lower, if you want you can crank the torsion bars too, to level it. but i don't mind the little bit of nosedive it has.

I don't want to crank the torsion bars. I've decided against it because it's just too risky for me.

1inch lower in front isn't too bad. But I dunno if I could live with that. lol. I'm picky.

Something else I've considered is doing coil spacers(I rather not). but I think it might be ok.

If I have a saggy rear end and I put on 2inch spacers and 1.5inch spacers up front.
Judging by what you said about the landcruiser coils maybe it would be 1/2inch lower in the rear?

I know it's not right comparing it this way. I'm just trying to get an idea.

Also, the cruiser coils probably vary depending on how much spring they have? correct?

i guess with the spacers it would probably be like that depending on how much yours sag. The cruiser coils i'm pretty sure all give around the same amount of lift. the 1 inch difference is pretty much unnoticable unless you point it out. this is what mine looks like.

Ok. I did some thinking.

I was wondering if anyone had a pic of a 2nd gen. 4Runner that has 1.5 inch BJ spacers up front, Cruiser coils in the rear, 33x12.50 tires, and some type of wheel spacers (like maybe 3 inches).

I was also considering just lifting the front with the spacers and leaving the rear coils stock and have 33x12.50 tires with 3 inch wheel spacers. Anyone have a pic of that??

Spacers for the rear coils just doesn't sound appealing to me, but I really don't want to get a 3-4 inch lift with the cruiser coils in the rear and 1.5 inches with bj spacers up front... I'm worried that the difference will be worse than a 1 inch difference. A 1 inch difference probably wouldn't bother me too much.

with 3" wheel spacers, you're going to get major rubbing on the front fender, not to mention, your rear tire won't stuff into the fender. I have the setup you are talking about but with no wheel spacers and the rear just barely misses the fender when it goes to stuff in there. Any wider and my "stuff" flex in the rear would be much more limited as it would hit the fender.

My rims have 3.75" backspacing (which is pretty common for 15x8 aftermarket rims)

Hey thanks for all the info. I wanted to put 33 10.50s on a factory 95 4runner with the factory susp and wheels, and do a 2" lift down the road. Will this work, i read the info you gave but just wanted to be sure, as i spoke to a local guy that says it wont work. Thnks, Mat

I think it will look funny. They already have the squatty rear look without lifting the front. There are other options for lift coils if you don't want to go as tall as cruiser coils. OME, Downey, etc.... I'd probably go with one of those, but you'll have to figure out which one you want.

Yeah. I thought it would look funny too but it would help wheeling a bit..

ok i need some help i want to lift my 90 4runner with the bj spacers and the fjcoils can ypu tell me exactly what i need so i dont end up with the wrong stuff and a ballpark price.
