22re into v6 truck

I have a 91 pickup with a 22re in it. Motor is a reman and only has about 50k miles on it. The cab and bed are both in bad shape and the frame is also not good. I picked up a 94 pickup wth a v6 in it that has a motor that knocks, only paid 400 bucks for it. I would like to put te 22re in the 94 pickup. I need to know what will work and what won't work. Help me out. I am not interested in buying another motor that is easier to install, I already have all of this. I am trying to turn 2 trucks into 1 truck.

You need everything that goes with that 22re. Tranny, transfer case, computer and all wiring.

Good luck. Lots of people have done this. Use that handy dandy search bar.

You will also need to weld in new motor mounts.

I am mainly looking for wiring details or help. I am wondering how complex does it get. Can the ECM and harness be removed from the 91 and placed in the 94' and the instrument cluster still work from the 94. Does this take any repinning of the harness? I don't want to tear into this if things in the 94 cluster won't work.

Thanks for the help.

If I recall right, the 89- 91 speedos are mechanically driven and the 92-94 are electrical driven. I am fairly sure the 92 and up are electrical but may be a year off one way or the other. I am not as familiar with the 3rd gen trucks but this little I do know.

So if I swap the dash from the 91 to the 94 the problem could be solved.? I think? Anybody tried swapping dashes between different years?
