22re helpppp
Alright im about to buy a motor 22re from a 89 it is missing one of the pistons. dk what happened its just not there.
i have my 22re ima use for parts. most of its new water pump etc.
if im not mistaking you wouldnt want to use my pistons bc my piston are shaped to my block. right? or wrong. or could i use them?

Yes it would probably be a bad idea to run mismatched pistons due to different compression ratio different wear etc. So I would plan on a full new set of pistons at least, and if your going to go to that trouble you may as well rebuild the whole thing imo

Seems like if one is changing the rings, the pistons shouldn't matter unless one is "taller"
I'd think if one took the 3 they had and another that looked the same to someone smart, that could weight and measure to see if they are going to play nicely together or not?
May be cheaper than a new set?
Gotta get to know your local machine shop anyhow right

I been fighting with this motor for 6 months. Almost everything on it is new. Just one thing after another. Not really big things but I could have bought a new motor for all the parts I have put on it. It's just one of them things tired of fighting with it.
