22re conversion

so i know i'm postin lots of threads this morning but its the only free mornin i have had in months! lol so how hard is it to do a full engine and tranny swap from a 3.0 V6 to the 22re?

judging by your avatar, the 22RE will be replacing the 3.0 in a 2nd gen 4runner?

bad idea IMO

i had a 90 4runner with the 22RE....gutless dog in such a heavy 4runner

3.4 swap would be more like it

why go backwards, why not go forwards get 3.4, or use the money on something else.
i mean the 3.0 is slow, but its still a solid engine

were would i find a 3.4?

and i'm plannin on doing the SAS swap lockers and all those goodies. i just thought it might be better to get the heart of the beast right first

3.4L came in tacomas, 4runners, t100s, and tundras

junkyard??, find a wrecked one and buy it cheap?

Power to weight ratio the 22re is better even in the heavier 4runner than any 3.0. Another great option is the 4.3 from a chevy blazer or pickups.


Do your homework cause any motor swap you choose there is alot to learn
