22r fuel system help

Hello everybody,

I was driving one day, ratchet strap got tied around the driveshaft and beat a hole the size of my fist into my gas tank. short bed pickup was 22re, has weber carb, had 22r gas tank(17galloner).

So I went out, didn't do research, but got a deal on a 19gal 22re extended cab long bed gas tank with the fuel pump in the tank.

Went to go bolt it up and.... haha. didn't fit...

So here is my question:

I am considering mounting this tank in my bed temporarily. I want to use the fuel pump that's in this tank. I have a mechanical fuel pump with the 3 lines... I know one of them is a return and I know a couple people run an electrical fuel pump and a mechanical fuel pump but most don't.

am I going to have any problems? is the 22re fuel pump going to pump out 100psi should I get a fuel regulator and put it between the carb and manual fuel pump and have the excess return to the tank??

I know some people will just run 1 line but I don't want to do that. I want to return it to 22RE status again someday....

thanks in advance for any feedback
