Can anyone tell me what this switch is for?

It is to the left and above the dash light dimmer switch. Mine is missing the plate, however, when pushed, it lights up.

I'm new to this truck...will post photos of it over the coming days.

Chances are someone before you had some lights somewhere on the vehicle and that was the switch. You can grab another grommet at a yard and pull your panel off and pull the switch and what's left of the wiring out. Unless it's still connected to something, that is.

The set up looks pretty stock.

Is it the ECT button?

 

No after market most likely an alarm .

Then who can really say it might be for anything

It lights up 'amber' when I push it, with the key on only. There must have been a cover over it at some point.

There are no outside cab lights unfortunately.

 

The button looks factory. I believe that is the "clutch start cancel" button.

The OP picture was sideways and I didn't realize. I was thinking clutch start cancel but it was the wrong orientation lol.
