1990: What fuel hose is this?

1990 4Runner V6

Passenger side near firewall. This hose is dripping fuel where the steel tube enters into it on very cold mornings. The leak continues for a short time until the motor warms up a little. Been going on for a while. Used to just think the smell of fuel on cold mornings was just running too rich but noticed this fuel line is actually leaking and dripping down to the ground.

Crawl under the truck and see where it heads to. If its a hard line to rubber, most likely it is fuel from or return to the tank.

That would be the pressurized hose that goes to the fuel rail. It attaches to a union fitting at the rear of the passenger side fuel rail. The pulsation damper is what screws the hose onto the fuel rail and is usually the cause of the leak. There was another thread a couple of weeks ago about a leaking pulsation damper and some fixes. You will need to remove the plenum to see the damper and determine if that is your leak.

Find and fix the leak ASAP because that fuel is leaking right over the exhaust manifold and crossover pipe and is a HUGE fire hazard!

I circled below where the leak is coming from on the line.

Looks like you'll need to replace that hose. You can see it here: http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_198...PGEA_2211.html

This is the part number: 23801-65021 for my '89 3.0. You can go the home page here and put in your VIN and get the correct part for your model: http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/

First Toyota has it for $65 here: https://www.1sttoyotaparts.com/part_number.html Click on "OEM Parts Catalog"

Be prepared to purchase the hoses/hard lines on either side of that line if you have a hard time breaking the old connections. If I remember correctly that leaky hose of yours runs down to the inside of the passenger wheel and connects to a hard line (you can see it in the wheel well). That hard line runs to the fuel filter.

That's correct. The other end goes to the fuel damper.

Okay, replaced the hose in question as well as the fuel damper. No more fuel leak. But, the check engine light comes on and indicates the throttle position switch but the motor runs fine. I just keep removing the EFI fuse for 30 seconds and the check engine lights stay off a little longer each time. I don't get it. Do I have a new problem or am I missing something as far as getting the check engine light to stay off if there is indeed no real problem.
