1990 4runner 2dr repair or resale?
Hey guys i am new here and maybe you can help. I bought what i guess to be pretty rare is a 1990 2dr 4runner 4wd, v6,5spd, the motor has a blown head gasket. the body is in good shape with no cancer. the interior is good for the year but could use a little help not to bad though. i bought it with the intentions of rebuilding the engine, repainting the body, fixing some minor stuff in the interior, putting on a lift kit, and some 33 tires. Now my wife says she wants a Tahoe or Yukon. She wants an older one like 95 or 96. Should i fix up the 4runner and make her drive it or just sell it and find a tahoe.i mean what is this thing worth as a project? what as a nice driver with rebuilt engine and new paint? please help thanks

If it were me, I'd rebuild the engine as oppose to getting a yukon or tahoe. If you can do the repairs yourself, it would be worth the time invested.

Go for a 3.4 swap while your at it. I wouldn't bother rebuilding the 3.0. If you get a deal on a good used motor then yeah but for the money I would do the 3.4 conversion.
