1986 parking brake cable pin
So I removed my front parking brae cable because it was snapped at the intermediate lever - I can't get the pin that holds the end of the cable out so I can put a new cable in! Please help! I removed the cotter pin and beat it pretty good after realizing it's not something I can twist out.
Any suggestions?

Standard "rusty bolt" measures - hose it down with WD-40 or Liquid Wrench, wait a few hours to a day, try hammer and/or vice grips again. Repeat a couple times if necessary.
If that doesn't do it, you can try heating it with a torch, being careful of any other stuff (esp. fuel and brake lines!) in the vicinity. Heating causes different metals to expand by different rates, which can break corroded stuff loose. So the trick is heat, hammer, heat, hammer....
Failing that, I would normally recommend drilling it out, if you can get a drill to bear on the shaft of the pin. When drilling steel, go slow, use a sharp small-diameter bit to drill a pilot hole down the center, and gradually repeat with larger and larger bit sizes until you've removed enough of the metal to crush or pry the smoldering remains of your nemesis out of the socket.
And if drilling doesn't work, there's always the hacksaw or Dremel with a cutting disk.
Wire brush bracket free of rust, hit with a little Rustoleum, procure new pin if necessary, proceed with repair, greasing new pin before insertion this time.

Looks like the head is already deformed(From hammering), you will likely need to file that off to get it thru the hole.
I'd attack it with a chisel or screw driver, driven in just above the lower "plate" to free that up and get it out of the way. Then a pair of vise grips maybe to press it out.
If you have some scrap plate steel you can DIY a mini press, One large hole in the center to allow the pin to slip thru then two more on the sides to run nuts and bolts thru to create the screw press.
Can't find a picture that describes that "contraption" but some other options poped up.
