It's not what your lookin for, but I wanted to throw it out there. Just to give an idea of what I think is better, offroad anyway. I'm on my 3rd rear drive shaft, but $650 is steep! I could buy 4-5 used ones for that.

I did this mod on my 95 Nissan Hardbody. Nissan trucks come with Spicer joints from the factory so that reduced the cost of the drive shaft as my old ends were used. To eliminate the Carrier Bearing (as we called it on the Nissan boards) cost me about $149 plus two new u-joints pressed in for an additional $40 got me out the door around $200 bucks.

I will do this mod to my toyota. Thanks for the posting the link for this.

i broke the carrier bearing mount off on my 91. At the time I was at college, not home. I called up South bay driveline and they mailed me a one piece shaft. Compared to the 2 piece this one doesn't hang down much lower. It was easy to install, all you need are 8 slightly longer bolts. I would highly recommend them. Cost me like $320 shipped IIRC.

We have a few custom drive shaft places here in San Diego, bring them your specs and they will dial you in.

Did you have to order anything special regarding the yokes so they don't bind against the longer bolts/bolt heads? Or is this not an issue?

Are you running a stock suspension in the rear?
