so my intermitten wipers weren't working and living in seattle that is kinda of a nicety (ya, i just made up a world).

i got this switch off ebay for an 86, i have an 85, i'm thinking it will work. if not, i'm not out that much but,,,,,, my 4runner does not have the two button (red/green, i think it says "pwr" and "on" or or "norm" or something on the green) so i'm wondering what that switch is for and if my harness has a plug in for it, should i plug it in?

With pics of what you have, I can tell you what you need. I did this exact swap into my runner two months ago....

Sounds like the ECT (Electronically Controlled Transmission) button for an automatic.

Not to worry... "nicety" has been a word for at least 500 years. And you used it correctly.

Where's the pics?
