definitely not that low, the lowest im getting is like i said 16.5 with a super heavy foot, there is a little black smoke on start up but while driving i see nothing. like i said though its not recommended for a stock truck which mine is.. i have a feeling with a header this thing would breath and be a monster.

what kind of upgrades are recommended for the 38/38 then? 16.5 is doable. That's not too bad in my books considering the situation.

Is it worth it to build up the 22r? I mean there is a 5vz-fe swap out there. What kind of power are we talking with the 38/38, cams, head, exhaust? I saw a post also about forced induction too. Just tryin to get an idea.

on a 32/36 how does the 32 side compare to the a fairly well working stock carb? Power wise that is. Also something else I'm curious about, how much do you have to bury the throttle before the 36 part kicks in for the added power? Half, almost full?

I have a weber 38 and thought I wanted to EFI my engine, but I dont' want to lose the power. The thing about the 38 is that the power is there if you need it, but if you drive normal, you will get better than stock mileage.
I can get 20 on the highway and just a few mpg's less when I am going around town. However, my engine does have a cam and headers.
Put an external fuel pressure regulator on it and set it for about 2.5 psi. There's also a mod to help it run up hills, but I haven't done that yet. Mine does stall on very very steep climbs, but I think that modding it will solve that problem.

I just ordered my Weber 32/36, adjustable fuel pressure regulator (I think this gets over looked too often) and a set of high altitude jets (I live about 1 mile up and wheel around 8,000 ft.). I'll report back with an install and opinions next week. The service tech at webercarbsdirect.com advised me to get the 32/36 because it is easier to tune for higher altitude, and has a nicer linkage than the 34/34.

what were the results of the 32/36? How did the power increase feel if at all? Mileage? How was the install and tuning?

Very eager to hear back because I am ordering one up very soon. I just fixed a major oil leak and this is my next step to bringing my truck back to life.

Check out my install thread. There are pics and a trail report. I'm very happy, and will run the Weber until propane injection is in the budget.
