trying to rig a kill switch..

my haynes manual doesnt help me much.

all applicable gurus see below.

so i want to make it a fuzz harder for someone to jack my ride..
im sure its on everyone else's mind..

basically i want to run a switch so that she wont start at all..

ive read about fuel pump kill switches and ignition switches and im going to stick with the latter.

ive been in the column before so that doesnt scare me.

my question is as follows.. what wire should i splice the switch into.
and at what point in the wire do i do so?

help me out fellas

I had a friend who has a car lot put one of there anti theft units in mine it works great you have to have the slide out chip in the receiver or the ignition get no power to it at all maybe you can do the same by talking with a car lot I have no idea how much it will cost since my friend did it for me for free.

I spliced into one of the wires to the igniter under the coil my truck will crank all day long but gets absolutly no fire so I can come out fireing before they run off he he he all it'll cost you is the wire and the switch. I'm thinking about how to put in a second switch incase some one finds the igsisting one..

two switches- one between the starter and it's wire and another in the igniter / coil B+. And if you want to get creative, use DPDT switches for the starter and igniter and wire them together in such a way that either both are up or down, or one's up and one's down.... and a relay or two in there to catch when one is wrong would lock out the other.

A guy i know just took a simple horn button from advance(real low profile) and wired it someway through the ignition and then put it under his carpet by the dead pedal so he leaves his keys in his truck at all times and noone can crank it period. think of it like the old ford dimmer switches except hidden.

I'm tryin to figure out how to wire one up right now too. I looked on 12 volt guy's website and didn't see any kill switch kits.

Off the top of their head does anyone have any links to kill switch write ups or a link to where I can find out how to do it?

Starter wire kill switches do not work. C'mon a car thief is a little smarter than that. It takes very little effort to bypass a starter wire.
