hello, this is a different topic but i didnt want to start a new post. i just put in a used transfer case in my 84 4runner. its in great shape and shiftst perfect. the issue im haveing is that once i put the shifter on. it shifts into 4high and nutral just fine but it wont go into 4low. the shifter just stops. i had a few thoughts, could the shift forks for to long, in know they came in 4" and 4.5". and could the shifter be to deep and contacting the bottom. i dont think it is because i dont see any ware from it. i have tried rocking the truck and going from 4high to 4 low and it just wont go. any Thoughs? thanks

Shift rail is too long and hitting tranny. Drop it see how much needs to be trimmed. Pull the detent balls out, knock out the roll pin holding the shift fork to the rail. Slide the rail out measure and cut. Put it all back together.
