Im A Broke Kid Just Out Of Highschool. I Just Recently Got Into 4x4's About 2 Years Ago. I Bought An 84 Yota Pickup And Im Lookin For Some Way To Get Better Offroad Performance Without Spending Outrageous Amounts Of Money. Lookin For Suggestions. Suspension Lift? Body Lift? Etc. Lookin To Spend Round 500 Right Now. It Has Stock Everything Except For The 31x10.5 Tires

Thanks Guys

What type of offroading do you do?

A suspension setup for mud wouldn't be the best for rockcrawling, for example.

And how much lift are you looking for?

For $500 you could probably get a kit form one of the cookie cutter suspension companies (Rough Country, Pro-Comp, etc.).

if you are interested in serious rock crawling/trailing, then you would want something with some flex (i.e. longer, flexier springs than stock...all-pro off-road, marlin crawler or chevy springs in rear and toyota rear springs in the front). if you are mostly interested in getting some hieght and are not as worried about the flex, then a cookie cutter lift is gonna do great for you. this would work well if you want it too look tough on road and do ok in the mud. too flexy of a spring in the mud isnt good. you'll get lots of axle wrap when you try to put the power down. 3-4 inch kits from rancho, superlift, etc should be in your price range and should include the necessary changes to your steering and brake lines and you shouldnt have to do too much to your drive lines (like nothing if you are ok with some vibrations.) i've run both superlift and marlin crawler 4 inch springs. the superlifts did great for what they were, but someday, down the road, you'll have to check into marlin or all-pro springs...they ride awesome on road and do even better off road. that's my $0.02.
