Ahh, I washed most of the mud off today and it didnt freeze while doing that for once!

Speaking of the Scout, I got a kick out of the video where they get it running. The guy Who helped him out purchased a beetle from a nearby town police department , Agawam MA. They used it for parades and such. A friend of mine played the video for us on a projector on the side of his camper when we were camping. Its another entertaining video. It too funny how all these people are connected and I know a bunch of them from other places.

took a trip out to the mountain laurel Sanctuary today. I noticed a couple weeks ago on my way home from ice fishing that one of the gates was open. I was wondering how far and you could go. There's a gate on the other end of the road it's just one big horse shoe basically, I was wondering if you could get all the way back to the other gate but looks like they only plowed just past the picnic area which is kind of neat.
Anyhow since I was there I took the opportunity to hike the rest of the road to check out a possible new fishing spot. It was really quiet out there!

a few shots from some snow wheeling on the way home. I really thought this road gets plowed but I guess not. Cool place.

somebody was watching me at lunch time......

Mall crawling, at an abandoned mall. Well it's partially empty anyway.

the old stereo has been going for a while now. First it never could play CDs anymore then it would start to cut out if turned up too much. That kinda stunk at the drive in movies last summer. No more butt connections everything is soldered and heat shrink on the connections. I even had some of the proper colors. This is our first stereo with built-in Bluetooth so now the Bluetooth Transmitter won't fall out on bumps. Hopefully 😆

Out enjoying the new stereo today. We took a trip out to Manchester because the trains were running at Time Machine Hobby and it was originally going to rain all day but cleared up. Only a few miles away from Manchester is that old tunnel I got photos of us going through back in December so we decided to check out the trail they made out of the old railway.

Nice! I have stereo that came with the truck in 2012 so I have to use a Blue tooth tranceiver plugged into aux input. You're right that thing looses connection sometimes.

well after sitting on parts for a few months now I finally replaced the contacts and plunger for the starter that came with the 4runner. The old ones were not too bad and it most likely was the broken positive cable but why not? I'll be putting it back in soon.

Friday Is looking like a top off kind of day! Current forecast is supposed to be 70......

Ahhh weather in New England, Monday I'm out hiking in snow and ice and today 75 and sunny 🌞. yes! top off time.

yesterday's rain looks to have taken care of the remaining salt on the roads and more rain for tomorrow so soft top is back on. Oh well it was fun for a little bit.

Hubcaps are in this season 😆, I put them back on. I figure if they put salt on the roads from this point on we won't drive the 4runner.

Just strolling around the college town by UCONN see how and old ratty 4runner just blends in with the kids BMWs and such..... we almost lose our truck when coming back to the parking lot 🙃

Now that the soft top is back on I finally got around to modifying the middle bracket. Since it was originally constructed for a pickup bed it was made to fold forward. I drilled out the rivets and replaced them with quarter inch bolts and a couple of wing nuts to make the bracket fold down backwards now.

the new old starter is doing great now! I noticed that the motor is bigger than both replacement starter motors too.

Oh look, it's a 4runner again! Let's see how long it takes for my wife and son to notice. He might catch it first time we go somewhere and my wife could drive it for 3 months and might not notice 🤣

Found them on E bay, I wasn't even looking for them specifically just some sort of badge that would fit. Other car brands were around ten bucks and I was thinking of something else that could fit. Then these popped up:
