you're running 33s with 529s? What's your rpms at 70mph? I wonder how they compare to the 488s

My truck doesn't have a tach so I'm not sure about the rpms. It cruises nicely between 65 and 75 without revving too high. Stepping up to 37's when these 33's wear out so choosing 529's was planning ahead.

I'm really not sure at this point. I'm trying to keep it as low as possible though.

Flexing it out after getting the rear shocks mounted. Not maxed out by any means but still pleased with the results. Especially since I still have the worn out factory front suspension....negative arched leaves and all.

Picked up my rig from a friend a couple months ago for $1500 with 185k miles. It had been sitting for a year, wouldn't start, and 1st and 3rd gears were shot. Got her to start with a new fuel pump, put in a new TPS sensor so I could set the timing which was actually set 3 degrees AFTER TDC (thanks to the 4Crawler site) and swapped in a junkyard W56B from an '87 4Runner.

While I was at it, I swapped in a new clutch from Marlin Crawler as well as the shifter seat and bushing. Had the diff's rebuilt with 4.88 gears to go with the 33's I just got. I don't know what kind of lift it has. She's got some body rust, but only place it's rusted through is the tailgate. Originally a southern Idaho truck, the frame is rock solid.

Drove it round trip 1,800 miles to Idaho and it developed a rod knock, pulled and tore down the engine this weekend and have a slew a new goodies from Engnbldr, LCE, and 22reperformance coming in the mail for a complete rebuild and freshening up.

As a typically domestic/Mustang guy, this is my first Toyota and have been reading the crap out of this forum amongst some other good ones too. Look forward to contributing here, learning some good stuff, and having fun!

DOESNT have the canopy on it now!
Currently
'85 ext cab, 22r (currently being rebuilt) 6in suspension lift, 33s.

Plan:
3in body lift, 38s, hi steer
as well as body work and a new paint job because it had been rolled and has damage on the driver side roof.

I wouldnt do a body lift unless you want to raise the drive train some. And i would work on getting some gears in those pumpkins before 38's are due. Get er armored up and see what she can do they way it is. It is a solid axle truck after all
